What We Do

Riley Children’s Foundation

For many years our club has supported the Kiwanis Family House. The Kiwanis Family House has been providing critical services to families experiencing medical crisis for over 40 years. Created in 1984 to fill a gap in the needs of our community, our mission is to support families in their healing by providing temporary, low-cost housing to families who have loved ones being treated for serious conditions at UC Davis Medical Center or Shriners Hospital for Children.

Ramona Pageant

Each year we partner with the Ramona Amphitheter to present “Ramona”. Each spring, among the splendor of California’s natural beauty, a wonderful thing occurs. Hundreds of people; actors and extras, Spanish dancers and musicians, horses, cowboys, and of course, those who represent the rich heritage of Southern California’s Native Tribes, all come together to create magic. And that magic is “Ramona”, California’s Official Outdoor Play, and America’s longest continuously running drama. Set within the spectacular amphitheatre known as the Ramona Bowl, the play is a wonder to behold. Performed under gorgeous spring skies, “Ramona” has become an international wonder. Our club provides a Chuck Wagon BBQ lunch to the guest while raising funds for our service projects. Our club has built numerous structures at this community facility and has a long history of service here.

Friends of Valley-Wide Foundation

Partnering with other community organizations to build synergy and focus to benefit our community when it comes to recreational programming and quality park facilities is something we strongly value. These events not only bring the community together, they generate donations that support critical programs that benefit the residents in the Valley-Wide Recreation District. One of those events is “The Weekend” Golf and Dinner Auction for the past 30 years, this 2-day event has generated over $1.5 million dollars, with 100% of all the money raised going back to the community.

THE KIWANIS BBQ TEAM

Our club has earned a well-deserved reputation for working with other organizations within our community by providing cooking services. Our BBQ team has prepared meals for youth fishing derbies, community clean projects, Ramona Pageant guests and volunteers, and many others. While we may be known far and wide for our smoked tri-tip and chicken, our talents don’t stop there. We have catered events with everything from a gourmet hotdog station to caviar-topped deviled eggs and bananas foster. The only thing greater than our ability to feed a crowd is how much fun we have doing it.
